Explorer battery terminal

I did not want to give up on this and finally was able to fix it .... it was 1AM in my garage :)

-starting problems  -
there was a lot of build up on the -ve terminal, the corrosion had eaten part of the battery terminal and the lose contact leading to starting trouble.

the battery is 5+ yrs old so I suspected the battery.  later I was able to check that its holding charge...12.x V and when the car is on, it was showing 14.x V, so the alternator is also working...

At first jump start worked and then when I tried the next day, I only heard tapping noise...
